DO YOU KNOW TOP NEW TECHNOLOGIES IN GLASS INDUSTRY?
As building and construction design trends evolve , so does the glass industry. Know More…
Glass plays an important role in the development of building shells, automotive, containers and much more in the industry. The advancements in technology are enabling modern heat insulation and solar protection glass along with switchable glazing to be installed in building shells and automotives very efficiently along with the highest aesthetic standards. Combining new technologies and hybrid components, such as hot and cold-bent glass, sophisticated laminating, and adhesive technology, has greatly increased the efficiency of glass applications. Glass industry is playing a very important part in this process.

Let's take a look at the new technologies in the glass industry.

Insulated Glass:
Composed of multiple panes sealed together with air space in between insulated glass separates the outside pane from the inside. This unique arrangement is the most effective way to reduce air-to-air heat transfer through glazing. Begin effective in conserving energy Insulating glass comply with energy codes, depending on the application, insulation requirement or end user's need. As design versatility is based on factors, such as the number of glass panes used in the unit production, cavity-filling material, coatings, sealing material and others, insulating glass is available in numerous different types.

Float Glass:
Float glass, also referred to as annealed glass, resists distortion. The manufacturing of float glass uses raw materials that are natural like soda ash, dolomite, and silica sand. These are melted at 1600 degree Celsius, left to float in a tin , spread itself and cool down to form flat glass. Float glass is highly used in exteriors of commercial places and residential purposes.
Tinted glass:
Tinted glasses are colourful glasses - manufactured by adding certain chemicals or ions. Like sulphur ion adds blue colour in glass and iron oxide gives it a green appearance. Adding to the aesthetic looks of a workplace or household, tinted glass is also used by interior designers to achieve outstanding looks for the interior of buildings and homes.

Laminated glass:
Laminated glasses are soundproof majorly used in building aquariums and bridges. A great choice for constructing glass canopies as it protects from harmful UV rays. Laminated glass can satisfy requirements for energy conservation, low noise, safety, structural integrity, strength, and ornamentation, depending on the use and level of customization.
Toughened glass:
Due to its safety feature, toughened glasses are in very high demand. It is often referred to as tempered glass and is frequently used in swimming pool fencing and home interiors. These glasses do not break easily and if it does break the chances of suffering injuries would be relatively low. It would cause less harm than the sharp edges of the standard glass. For areas that require both strength and transparency, toughened glass has therefore been strongly advised.
Shatterproof glass:
To manufacture shatterproof glasses companies use plastic polyvinyl butyral resin. Shatterproof glasses are resistant to shattering. Polyvinyl butyral resin prevents glass from breaking into sharp pieces in case of any destruction. These glasses are highly recommended for floors and windows and can effectively reinforce buildings from tornadoes and other weather-related protections.

Chromatic glass:
Chromatic glasses protect the interior of meeting rooms and ICUs from daylight. The different types of laminations of chromatic glasses might be sensitive to either heat or light or electricity. It protects the interior from the daylight.

Double Glazed Glass
Double glazed glass keeps your building cool in summer and warm in winter. Keeping the noise level low, double glazed glass has rapidly become one of the world's most popular and useful glazing forms. As energy is becoming increasingly costly , it helps to reduce your electricity bill significantly. Two glass layers placed in a window frame together are sealed with special chemicals. To reduce the transfer of heat through glass, there is space between both layers of glass.
The Global Glass Show 2023 in Abu Dhabi this September will provide glass processors and finishers, engineers, façade planners and architects plus unique insight of current sector developments and trends.
